Mason Dixon Homeschoolers Association was founded in 1986 by a few families who desired to homeschool their children.  To learn more about the history of the organization, please visit the “Local Support Group” tab, then click on the “History” menu to read a short pictorial history of MDHSA and homeschooling in Pennsylvania.   Information on becoming a member of the MDHSA Local Support Group can also be found in the “Local Support Group” section.

In addition to being a Local Support Group, MDHSA offers a high school Diploma Program for PA students.

The Credit Verification Service (CVS) provides third party verified transcripts for out-of-state students.

Finally, there is a Graduation Ceremony offered to all of the above participants.

Membership in the Local Support Group is not required to participate in the Diploma Program or the CVS Program.  Likewise, participating in those programs is not enrollment as a Member of the Local Support Group.

Please browse our website!  In addition to the plethora of information, there are also items of interest included for ALL homeschoolers, even non-members of MDHSA:

  • For Pennsylvania homeschoolers, a free PDF download of the Law Guide, (written by a veteran MDHSA Member with years of experience) is also available on the website.
  • Useful forms are available and free to download and print, including an affidavit, sample objectives, and more.
  • In the Publications tab, booklets written by veteran MDHSA Members are available for purchase (either hard-copy or PDF version).  The information in the various publications is useful for both the new and veteran homeschooler.

We hope our site is helpful to you on your homeschooling journey!
