A bill has been introduced into the PA Senate.  It will require home visits of families who are homeschooling or whose children are enrolled in public cyber/charter schools.  It is a bad bill and poorly written.  Click here for more information.  Posted March 2013

MDHSA was founded in 1986 by a few families who desired to homeschool their children.  To learn more about us, go to the Local Support Group Tab and click on the History tab to read a short pictorial history of MDHSA and homeschooling in Pennsylvania. That section will also give you information about becoming a member of the local support group.

In addition to being a local support group, MDHSA offers a high school diploma program for PA students.  The Credit Verification Service (CVS) provides third party verified transcripts for out of state students. Finally, there is a Graduation ceremony tab for all of the above participants. Membership in the local support group is not required to participate in the Diploma Program or the CVS program and participating in those programs does not automatically make you a member of the local support group.

Please browse our website!  We have things here for all homeschoolers, even if they are not members of MDHSA.  There is a free PDF download of the law guide, written by a veteran MDHSA member with years of experience for homeschoolers in Pennsylvania. You will find forms to help you, including an affidavit, objectives and more. In the publications tab you will find booklets written by veteran MDHSA members for the purpose of serving you, the new or veteran homeschooler.

We hope our site is helpful to you on your homeschooling journey.

If you have questions or suggestions concerning our site, feel free to contact us.

MDHSA does not discriminate against families on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin.
