Credit Verification Service is a service that will validate your homeschool courses and credits and compile them into an official transcript. No diplomas will be awarded through this service. The purpose of this service is to give you an option for a third party to issue an official transcript for you to submit to colleges or other programs that require official transcripts.
NOTE: This program is NOT for MDHSA Diploma Program students. This program is ONLY for students receiving a parent issued diploma (usually for students from states that do not have a diploma program.) |

PDE Decision - Out of State Diplomas
In 2003, MDHSA received permission from an official at the PA Department of Education (PDE) to award diplomas to non-PA residents. The PDE has just reversed that decision and MDHSA is no longer permitted to award diplomas to out of state families as of July 29, 2009. |

HB1085 is currently in the Senate Education Committee.
The purpose of this bill is to provide homeschooled students access to PHEAA aid without requiring them to purchase a diploma or obtain the signature of the superintendent of their school district of residence. CHAP has declined to support the bill claiming that the bill requires homeschoolers to go through an extra hoop to obtain something readily available to publically educated students.
