MDHSA offers a variety of publications of interest to all homeschooling families. These publications are available as a pdf or as a hard copy. See prices below and the Purchases tab for ordering.

An Introduction to the Fine Art of Homeschooling is especially useful for those who are considering homeschooling. From philosophies of education to curriculum materials, the array of choices can be bewildering but this publication allows for a careful evaluation of each of the options as well as providing the information needed to obtain resources.

Homeschooling and the Law is a valuable tool for any Pennsylvania homeschooling family. Included in the booklet are all of the schedules and deadlines required by law, the forms and sample letters needed for compliance as well as an explanation of what the law doesn’t require. Also included are the text of the law, sample log sheets, and sample evaluation formats. This booklet can be especially useful if removing a child from a school setting.

Many children simply do not fit “the norm”. Sitting still may be a challenge, reading skills may not have progressed to reading for information, or the child simply cannot hold a pencil and continue to be able to think.  Addressing Learning Challenges contains six articles that will help you determine if your child needs help from a professional as well as information and practical advice on how to keep your child learning while you address the reading and writing delays through other avenues.

Are you looking at a middle school aged child for the coming year? Wondering what you will do to document completion of high school credits? The Mason Dixon Homeschoolers Diploma Guide can help answer these questions and more. Even if you choose not to participate in a diploma program the MDHS Diploma Guide can assist you as you provide for your student’s secondary education (grades 7-12) by providing convenient record keeping forms and a transcript layout, suggested course titles by credit category, and more.
